Miniature Cremation Urns Provide Two Options

The Cremation Association of North America estimates that by 2025, nearly 59 percent of deceased individuals will be cremated. This equates to more than 1.9 million U.S. cremations each year. As the demand for cremation urns increases, the number of ways to handle this arrangement will also grow. Many more people are expected to select miniature urns to honor their loved ones in two ways.

A miniature urn is designed to hold partial remains of a cremated individual. The majority of the ashes will be scattered in a special place. Scattering ceremonies may be informal or formal but all usually involve a tribute to the deceased and a moment of silence after the scattering takes place. The small amount of ashes that remain are stored in an urn within the home of a surviving family member.

Miniature cremation urns are similar to standard urns but are scaled to smaller dimensions to hold fewer ashes. They come in many beautiful colors and designs with very affordable price tags. These containers are designed to last a lifetime and display the remains of a loved one in a special and unique way.

Family members can shop for urns together online, allowing all to have a say in the final choice. They may even take turns displaying the urn at their homes throughout the years. Each of them wants a chance to feel closer to the person they loved for so many years. A miniature urn is easy to transport and keeps remains secure during the journey.

As more people are cremated, new styles of miniature cremation urns will become available. Discuss the disposition wishes of loved ones and if cremation and scattering of ashes are desired, review the mini urn designs together so the individual has input. When the time comes, the decision will already be made, relieving stress on surviving loved ones.
