Once you’ve selected a proper cremation urn for ashes, the next step in the funeral process is deciding how to handle the remains.  Some people choose to keep the remains in beautiful
cremation urn, where others plan a scattering service. Deciding on where to spread the remains can be a daunting and hard-to-cope with task, and a lot of this is due to saying goodbye forever. Many people often scatter the remains in an outside or natural setting, allowing their loved one to become part of the Earth.

Below are a few helpful suggestions of how to scatter cremated remains:
Scatter on land: When scattering on land, you can leave a marker that will allow you to visit the site anytime and find where the ashes we’re scattered. If your loved one had a favorite spot in the yard, this would be an excellent choice. However, if scattering remains on public land, be sure to check local laws.
Scatter at sea: It’s a maritime requirement that remains must be scattered at least three miles off shore. This option is extremely popular and perfect for any nautical lover or fisherman. However, when scattering ashes at sea there is no way to leave a marker.

Scatter by air: If your loved one was a free-spirit this is an exceptional choice. Many people choose this method to allow their loved one to become one with the Earth. Like sea scattering, there is no way to leave a marker.

Selecting a cremation urn can help make the process a little more bearable.  Lovingly crafted infant urns feature angels, teddy bears, or religious imagery. Options range from engraved wood cremation urns to sculpted angels sitting atop decorative marble urns.

You can also choose cremation urns with personal messages, symbols of childhood, or personalized with the child’s name. From the stately to the adorable, there are infant urns to suit every family’s personality.

Cremation urns also allow the young one to stay with his or her family, instead of leaving the household. When selecting a cremation urn, think about the personality of the person or pet you want to remember. What were their favorite colors? Was there a symbol, shape, or color that you associate with the deceased for a personal reason? Look for cremation urns that reflect the themes of your loved one’s life or the hobbies they spent most of their life enjoying. Look for funeral urns that make you think of your deceased loved one in some manner.

While shopping for cremation urns, also think about where you will place the urn. This should be a safe place where it will not get knocked over or kicked, but it should also be a place where you can enjoy the cremation urn. Once you identify the spot where your urn will sit, think about the size and shape of urn that will look good in that space. You still want your cremation urn to reflect the personality and life of the deceased, but it shouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb in your home, either.

Wood cremation urns are very nice, not just for you but for the person or pet that has passed on. Every time you look at this cremation urn, you are going to remember things about them. There are many different cremation urns available that don’t cost a fortune. You can find these cremation urns in many different types of wood, with simple to complex designs.  If you are immortalizing a pet, then the Photo Urn that holds photos of your beloved cat or dog is also available. These rotating wood cremation urns can hold pets that weighed up to forty pounds before they died.  These affordable cremation urns are only $99.00. These are just two of the decorative cremation urns that are not only affordable for the average person, but also tasteful, and will commemorate the passing of your loved one.

talk of death

Since so many people are afraid of death they may be afraid to ask you questions about the cremation urn you would prefer, especially if you display it in your home. While it is an intensely personal item, you should never feel ashamed by it.

Speak about it openly when people seem curious and invite questions, but never give out more information than you’re comfortable with, such as how much it cost. That is no one’s business. If the individual who is asking questions is a child, make sure it is all right with his or her parents before answering questions about the cremation urn. Children learn their fears from the adults around them, so putting them at ease around such an item may actually be good for them. After all, it is something that they will have to face eventually.

You will no doubt face some criticism or distaste from those around you when you choose to display a cremation urn in your home. Some people feel as if keeping the ashes is overly morbid or that you’re holding onto the deceased person when you should be learning to let go. You should let these people know how you grieve is not their business, and that you will never feel ashamed of keeping your loved one close to you.

cremation

While cremation is becoming a more and more accepted in the United States, more traditional burials are performed then cremation in other words most people are still buried in caskets in cemeteries. There still exists amongst many people an aversion to cremation. This is usually due to being unfamiliar and misunderstanding the cremation process. The loved ones the departed leave behind are left to make all the end of life decisions.

If you want to make sure you are cremated, or you have other end of life preferences, how do you ensure your wishes are followed? The most important step in making sure end of life wishes are honored is to make sure loved ones are aware of your preferences. Death is understandably a difficult, and often morbid, topic. However, discussing end of life preferences and choices long before you die can take some of the emotion out of such discussions.

These discussions should be open and frank. Often, loved ones just want to make sure you understand their concerns. It may take several conversations over a period of time to convince loved ones of your wishes. You can even sit down and help your family choose the perfect cremation urn that you wish your remains to be in once cremated. I would think it would be much more meaningful to be able to choose your own cremation urn, don't you?

cultured marble

If you’ve been looking for the right cremation urn for a family member or even a beloved pet, you’ve probably been beset with a deluge of unfamiliar terminology. Urns are made in many different styles and from a wide variety of materials. That can make it difficult to choose the perfect one.

One of the most common materials for elegant but affordable cremation urns is cultured marble. Cultured marble urns look a lot like more expensive memorials made from natural marble, but they’re more durable, come in a wider range of colors, and are far more affordable. This man-made material fits in with most decorating schemes, as well, making it an excellent choice for many people who want to keep their loved one’s ashes in a favored place at home.

Unlike natural marble, which requires special conditions and extreme heat and pressure to form correctly, cultured marble is made under very controlled circumstances. This allows manufacturers to produce exactly the effect they want, creating beautiful and reliable cultured marble cremation urns without defects or unexpected irregularities. Many less costly natural marbles can’t promise that kind of consistency.

Be sure and visit infinitys urns and look at their line cultured marble cremation urns. Infinity has many different styles as well as different kinds of materials to choose from, they also have a line for pets.

pet urns

There are a number of ways to honor a pet and pet cremation urns are just one. Creating a memorial from pictures is one way or keeping the ashes of the deceased in a special pet urn or memory box is another. Everyone grieves in a different way and at different times. Pets, regardless of the breed or kind, are a way for us to love someone who may not be able to speak in human words but are there to share the joy and sorrow we have and honoring them is very reasonable.

Some owners honor the deceased with a memorial garden area that featured the favorite plants or a special tree. This place can be as ornate or simple as you want to make it. Flowers and shrubs for remembering are often used. A small bench or other decoration is a good idea for those who spend time sitting and remembering the fun times that were spent together. There are people who choose to bury the cremated remains in a small garden area. It is often a great idea to check with local regulations as this may not be allowed for health reasons.

Dealing with sadness allows for acceptance and healing. Remembering your pet by honoring them with a place in your garden or a memory box kept inside your home is one of the ways to do so. Shadowboxes that hold items that remind you of places you spent with your pet are also a good way to honor them. If you have to wait a little while before making a memorial, that is alright but, it will help to deal with the loss of your pet. Pets are a big part of our lives and bring a  joy with them; they should be honored and remembered, you can visit infinity urns and find the perfect pet urn for your loved one and start the healing today.

its time

When it is time for you to select a cremation urn, your going to want to take your time and make sure that you choose the right one, because you will want to make extra sure that you pick one that is the best choice and suitable memorial for your recently departed loved one.

Cremation Urns
They can be manufactured from many different materials and these include such materials as metal, wood, marble, ceramic and brass. When selecting your cremation urn it can be a great idea to think about the persons  personality and how they liked to live, as you may be able to select a material and design that is not just a long lasting memorial, but also something that shows the personality of the  departed. Make sure you pick something that you like.

Indoor or Outside
Another thing that you need to consider when you are looking for the perfect cremation urn is the where exactly the urn is going to be displayed. If you are going to be placing it on display inside your home, then you can choose a less durable material for its construction, such as wood or ceramic. However, if you are going to be displaying it outside of the home, in say, the garden, then you are going to have to choose a material that is more durable and one that will withstand the elements. Materials that are best used for displaying a urns outside include metal, brass, bronze, pewter and marble.

Please remember that nobody is going to find the process of buying a cremation urn a very pleasant experience, however, with just a little bit of time and forethought you can make sure that your recently departed friend or relative has a cremation urn that befits the life they lived and the good times you shared together.

Cost, convenience among factors in families' funeral decisions

When Lisa dog, Bear, died in June, it was heartbreaking. But one thing that made it easier for her was the way everything was handled.
She had Bear cremated and her ashes put into a pet urn that now sits on the family mantelpiece.
"It is so nice to have her there," Welch said. "It is a way to keep her close to us and honor her memory."
Lisa is among a growing number of pet owners who are choosing cremation these days.
"We talked with a few funeral homes and they average about one cremation a day," the ones we talked with said. "It used to be less, but more people are starting to see cremation as an option. People are very attached to their pets. Ask any pet lover, and they will tell you pets are family."
The funeral homes we spoke with report having cremated almost every kind of pet, including cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, iguana, rabbits and birds. The largest animal they have cremated so far was a 450-pound miniature horse, he said.

why cremation

More and more people are shopping for cremation urns today, and the reason for that is,
a traditional burial funeral costs from $7,000 to $10,000 that covers the service, casket, burial and a headstone, prices may very in different areas.
Based on study's by the Cremation Association, the average cost of cremation service is about $1,600, ranging from less than $1,000 to $5,000 with additional services and extras that might include a coffin if one wants the ash's buried, custom cremation urns and a burial plot.

But people should be aware that options and extras can bring costs up as much as a traditional funeral. The key is knowing the cost of  the memorial and burial of ashes will be.
The most common of cremation services is referred to as a direct cremation. Transportation of the body from the place of death to the funeral home, refrigeration, and transportation to and from the crematorium, and  the cremation and the return of the ashes in a cremation urns are all included.

You will have to decide where to store the ash's, which can be costly in its self if you choose not to scatter the ash's your self or keep them at home. Cemeteries offer a variety of places to store your ashes, from graves to niches in memorial walls to mixing ashes in an underground vault .
Some glass niches in the mausoleum chapels begin at $8,000, which includes an urn.

And today one of the many options is to scatter the remains in the air while flying in a small plane, and some want the ashes to be scattered at sea so if you choose any of these two options you will have to consider the cost of chartering a boat or plane. Most people though just purchase a
cremation urn and choose to store the ash's at home.

Miniature Cremation Urns Provide Two Options

The Cremation Association of North America estimates that by 2025, nearly 59 percent of deceased individuals will be cremated. This equates to more than 1.9 million U.S. cremations each year. As the demand for cremation urns increases, the number of ways to handle this arrangement will also grow. Many more people are expected to select miniature urns to honor their loved ones in two ways.

A miniature urn is designed to hold partial remains of a cremated individual. The majority of the ashes will be scattered in a special place. Scattering ceremonies may be informal or formal but all usually involve a tribute to the deceased and a moment of silence after the scattering takes place. The small amount of ashes that remain are stored in an urn within the home of a surviving family member.

Miniature cremation urns are similar to standard urns but are scaled to smaller dimensions to hold fewer ashes. They come in many beautiful colors and designs with very affordable price tags. These containers are designed to last a lifetime and display the remains of a loved one in a special and unique way.

Family members can shop for urns together online, allowing all to have a say in the final choice. They may even take turns displaying the urn at their homes throughout the years. Each of them wants a chance to feel closer to the person they loved for so many years. A miniature urn is easy to transport and keeps remains secure during the journey.

As more people are cremated, new styles of miniature cremation urns will become available. Discuss the disposition wishes of loved ones and if cremation and scattering of ashes are desired, review the mini urn designs together so the individual has input. When the time comes, the decision will already be made, relieving stress on surviving loved ones.

Using Urns To Dispose of Cremated Remains at a Cemetery

A crematory typically delivers the cremated remains of a loved one in a temporary container. Family members then choose whether to scatter the ashes, keep the remains at home, or store them at a cemetery. If home display or cemetery storage is selected, an urn is typically purchased to serve as a permanent container. There are several ways to store urns at a cemetery.

Many cemeteries have designated areas where ashes may be scattered. Cremated remains may also be buried in a cemetery plot. Some cemeteries have urn gardens designated for the storage of cremated remains while others offer mausoleums with niches featuring glass or solid fronts on which the name of the individual and dates of birth and death may be engraved.

If a cemetery is selected for permanent disposition of cremated remains, consult the rules and regulations of the facility to learn what is permitted. A cemetery may limit the memorialization and number of interments in a plot or grave. Cemeteries charge different fees for interment and memorialization and many require an individual purchasing a plot to designate whether cremation interment is anticipated.

Discussing the regulations with the cemetery in advance prevents selection of an inappropriate urn or accompanying memorial. The goal is to find an acceptable container within budget and store the remains in a manner with which the deceased and surviving loved ones would feel comfortable. There are many styles of urns including those designed to retain a portion of remains after the majority are scattered.

After purchasing a suitable urn and making arrangements with the cemetery, think about whether a formal memorial ceremony is desirable. Many families choose to have a brief ceremony offsite while others hold it at the cemetery prior to storage. Consider how the deceased would best like to be remembered and act accordingly.

thoughts on cremation

Have you given a any thoughts to cremation urns? How do you want your remains to spend eternity? In a nice built coffin in the ground?  If you're looking for something different, maybe even consider being cremated and have your remains scattered at sea and be nestled among colorful underwater creatures as an artificial coral reef bank? These are just a couple of the things people are doing with the cremated remains of them selves or their loved ones.

Though some people might picture someone stacked high on a wood built memorial like you see in old movies when talking about cremation, today cremations are much more different and occur at crematories with industrial ovens that efficiently incinerate the bodies.

Cremation is the process of incinerating a body at high temperatures until there are only calcified bones left, which are then ground into ashes. These ashes can be kept in a cremation urn, scattered or even buried as part of the last rites.

Cremation has not always been popular, but lately has picked up, and has been predicted to grow because of the cost factor being considerable lower than a standard burial funeral.
Some people turn to cremation over burial because of the convenience, finding it more easy to handle ashes instead of a body.
Others might have a week stomach about the idea of decay doesn't sit well with them, while some people find it fitting with their spiritual beliefs. Whatever the reason, more and more people are choosing cremation.
Funeral suppliers and mortuary suppliers are having to purchase more cremation urns because of the rise of people choosing cremation.

Cloisonne is the design created when thin metal strips and enamelware combine. The result is a style that is smooth and elegant. Cloisonne designs range from subtle to pronounced and a rainbow of colors may be used. Urns featuring cloisonne shine due to their glossy finish and metal accents. Color choices result in patterns suitable for either male or female remains.

The ultimate in designer urns feature bold designs that turn the containers into showpieces. These are urns for the remains of people who always captured the limelight. Gold and silver metal accents, colorful patterns, and unique materials including glass and brass are used to create these masterpieces.
